theater workshop

From July 29 to October 5, 2025, the free theater workshop “Self-care, body and territory” will take place at the AWO Begegnungszentrum in Berlin-Kreuzberg.

The project is aimed at FLINTA* people with a migration background and is led by Brazilian artist Uriara Maciel, who combines decolonial and feminist approaches in her work.

Based on the method of the Theater of the Oppressed, the workshop offers a safe space for queer, migrant people to explore their bodies, territory, and self-care.

Through theatrical exercises, group discussions, and shared reflections, new perspectives on social justice, solidarity, and community emerge.

In collaboration with the collective AyôSol, ten meetings will take place over a period of three months. The aim is to develop a joint theater piece that will be performed publicly at the end of the project.

The workshop is aimed at actors and non-actors alike and explores the body as a social, political, and personal territory.
