A coming-of-age story that challenges the class barriers in our society and forcefully raises questions about privilege. Director Babett Grube brings the autofictional graphic novel ‘Scheiblettenkind’ by Eva Müller to the stage for the first time with great enthusiasm, telling a story of emancipation and social inequality.

At 14, the main character already has her third job. While other teenagers enjoy the hot summer at the swimming pool, she stands behind the even hotter deep fryer and serves the bathers. After work, she is too tired to jump into the pool herself, and the snide comments of the others rob her of the last of her strength.
For the first time, the snake of shame appears, constantly whispering that she is not good enough. Nobody believes that she is capable of going to high school either. Nevertheless, she feels this irrepressible urge to follow a path in life that no one in her family has been able to follow before.
She wants more self-determination and finally ends up studying art after a few detours. But is she finally where she wants to be? Will she ever get rid of the snake of shame?
