The introductory tour presents key aspects of the exhibition and offers insights into the work of Saâdane Afif, an interdisciplinary artist who has lived in the city since 2003. The exhibition includes the multi-part work "The Fountain Archives."
This artistic archive project explores one of the most prominent chapters in 20th-century art history: Marcel Duchamp's legendary 1917 readymade "Fountain."
Afif's spatial installation was generously donated to the museum by Paul Maenz in 2023. The exhibition presents it alongside other works that profoundly and with subtle humor question the institution of the art museum and the principle of authorship.
