Roland Borchers was born in Leipzig in 1958 and completed his artistic training in the year of the fall of the Berlin Wall. He became known nationally and internationally primarily for his landscapes, which play with the contrast of abstraction and figuration and have an almost haptically tangible colorfulness.

The exhibition shows, among other things, graphics that were created during his student days in the GDR, but also more recent works from 2014, in which Roland Borchers deals with his origins and goes in search of traces. In addition to large-format, colorful canvases, visitors will also encounter small, sketchy works and be taken on a journey to the artist's secret places of longing.
