Whether on foot, by "wire wheel" or luxury limousine: man was and is constantly on the move. The exhibition "Man on the Move" spans 1,400 square meters, from the pre-industrial ox cart to the mass distribution of the automobile in the 20th century.

Eleven themed islands provide insights into the world of travel and motor racing, inform visitors about inventions both ingenious and failed, and illustrate the path to automotive society.
The exhibition portrays people who are connected to the history of mobility in a special way. Red boxes on the walls surprise visitors when they are opened with curious exhibits such as the Wobbly Elvis. Hidden pictures also invite children to discover. A comic strip and a radio play accompany visitors through the exhibition. Large-format photographs by artist Charlotte Sonntag bring an additional perspective to the topic of mobility. The atmospheric night shots show the speed and liveliness that only traffic brings to the static of built urban space.
