Somewhere between an exhibition, an installation, and club culture
The project is not intended to be a traditional exhibition in a club setting. Instead, Rising Spaces works with the venue’s existing structures and atmospheres. The club’s architecture, signs of wear, and history remain visible and become part of the presentation.
During the week, the club opens during the day as an immersive exhibition. Visitors move through spaces that are meant not only to be viewed but also to be experienced. The installations change their effect depending on the viewer’s perspective, creating situations that are constantly shifting.
On weekends, the venue returns to its nighttime operations. However, the artistic works remain in place and shift their function in interaction with music, the audience, and the dance floor. This creates a format that alternates between stillness and movement, perception and participation.
Rising Spaces emerged from Berlin’s club scene and explores how cultural spaces can be reinterpreted. For decades, clubs have been regarded as social and creative hubs of the city, yet for many people they remain largely inaccessible outside of nighttime hours. The project temporarily opens these spaces to a broader audience and creates new avenues to club culture beyond traditional nightlife.
The exhibition is open from July 1 to 31, 2026, transforming the club into an accessible space for visitors during the day.
