Her first solo show
Someone people ask where her mother is from, someone from the very bottom, a child on welfare, a child without a father—pretty sassy, pretty loud, quite a lot of everything. Yet Rebecca is actually pretty laid-back, even when the world usually isn’t. She always finds the humor in everything—because what else can we do?
She learned that from her mother, who, whenever Rebecca was scared, would say “Azizam” to her in Persian. A word that has been with Rebecca for as long as she can remember—from when she was a child and took a terribly embarrassing fall off the playground slide, right up to today as an adult, when she finally calls her mom again after far too long a time away from Berlin.
How has so much been able to change over the years, and yet this one little word is still always the right answer?
Rebecca Pap, known from hit shows like “Wrong, But Funny” and her podcast “Anti Alles,” is finally launching her first solo show, “Azizam”—and she’s doing it with all her heart. You’re not supposed to say “doing.” Why not? It’s such a good word! Okay, but what exactly will Rebecca be doing up there on stage?
Quite a lot—and it’s going to be really funny!
