I DON'T HAVE ALL DAY! – The 2027 Anniversary Tour

A life dedicated to the stage: being able to embark on extensive tours at the age of 70 is by no means a given, but a genuine privilege. PURPLE SCHULZ knows this: his spirit is more vibrant than ever, his voice moves audiences even more deeply today than it did in the past, and his audience has remained unconditionally loyal to him for decades.

With his major birthday tour ‘ICH HAB NICHT EWIG ZEIT!’, the Cologne-based singer-songwriter is bringing this extraordinary anniversary to life on stage.

The title of the programme sounds like a farewell, but it means exactly the opposite: it is a passionate plea for the here and now.

With this tour, he is giving his audience a deeply personal experience to mark his 70th birthday – one that strikes people right in the heart and exudes genuine, profound passion at every moment. From the captivating intro to the grand finale two and a half hours later, the musician takes his guests on a highly emotional journey through an entire lifetime.

One moment the audience is laughing at one of the stories from his life that he recounts, and the next he’s serious, melancholic and pensive once more. His songs may at times be uncomfortable, challenging the ‘idealised world’ narrative and the dream of eternal youth. Yet it is precisely this interplay of emotions that unites humour and melancholy, protest and optimism into a rousing evening that only comes to an end with the final chord. That’s just how he is: unpretentious, straightforward. Ultimately, one thing above all else lingers in the room: a pure, honest love for people and for music.

A particular highlight is his extraordinary Harpejji. This rare, 22-string instrument builds a fascinating bridge between the piano and the guitar – with a unique sound that reflects the soul of the pieces in a deeply moving way.

He is accompanied by guitarist and singer-songwriter Norman Keil, who infuses the songs with additional energy through his distinctive voice and subtle dynamics.

“ICH HAB NICHT EWIG ZEIT!” is not a wistful look back, but a vibrant exclamation mark: now is the time to live, to feel and to look ahead.
