History and Stories
Participants will discover the fascinating world of medicinal plants in the medicinal herb garden! On our tour, you’ll learn how medicinal herb gardens have evolved from antiquity to the present day.
The tour highlights the knowledge of Hildegard von Bingen, the role of women knowledgeable in herbalism, healers, and midwives, and the often-misunderstood history of “witches.” It also demonstrates how poisonous plants were specifically used and understood. The guided tour combines historical practices and insights and illustrates how herbal medicine continues to shape our lives today.
