Later this week, a series of pop-ups will bring the Caputo Pizza Village spirit to the city: On May 22 at Ripieno Food Club on Wiener Straße and on May 23 at Partenope 081 on Simon-Dach-Straße, there will be DJ sets from 2 to 7 p.m. each day, along with a special deal of a Margherita pizza and an Aperol Spritz for 10 euros.
Tuesday evening marked the kickoff at the preview event for the new food festival at Bar Cafe Aedes in Prenzlauer Berg: One of the highlights was Antonio Tomasello with his Duo Sicilian Ice Cream. The Berlin-based ice cream maker, who already runs nine of his own ice cream shops in the city, has developed special ice cream creations for the festival that translate the world of Neapolitan pizza into Sicilian artisanal gelato: a Marinara gelato with tomato, basil, and black garlic, as well as a Bufala gelato with focaccia crumble. “I felt it would be inappropriate to compete at this event with my regular flavors. So I sat down and spent three nights thinking about how Neapolitan pizza could taste as gelato,” says Tomasello. The creations will be available in limited quantities at the festival.
Pizzaiola Jessica De Vivo shared on stage what participating means to her personally: “As a young girl, I went to the Pizza Village in Naples with my dad and dreamed of one day being there myself as a pizza maker. That I now get to come to Berlin as a participant myself is a great honor for me.” De Vivo is one of Italy’s most renowned pizzaiolas.
During the preview evening, Alessandro Marinacci, CEO of Oramata Grandi Eventi and founder of Caputo Pizza Village, also announced that following the Berlin event in September 2026, the festival will take place in Rome for the first time.
From May 28 to 31, at the German premiere and the 2026 season opener, ten stations featuring pizzaiole, pizzaioli, and renowned pizzerias will present exclusively Neapolitan pizza in its purest form. Among them are Errico Porzio, Vincenzo Capuano, Antica Pizzeria da Gennaro, Rossopomodoro, and Lucignolo Bella Pizza, as well as the three Berlin pizzerias Partenope 081, Monella, and Prometeo. Partenope 081 will also offer gluten-free pizzas. In addition, there will be pizza classes, workshops with only a few spots left, and an entertainment program featuring live music and much more.
“With Caputo Pizza Village, Berlin is welcoming a food festival that originated in Naples, is deeply rooted there, and now has international appeal. It is precisely this blend of authenticity, craftsmanship, and genuine festival energy that fits perfectly in Berlin,” says Fabio Esposito, organizer of Caputo Pizza Village Berlin.
Pizza Village Berlin 2026 will take place from May 28 to 31 at the Napoleon Complex in Friedrichshain.
About CAPUTO PIZZA VILLAGE
Caputo Pizza Village is an international live event based in Naples. Since its founding in 2011, the festival has grown into one of Italy’s most significant food events—with over one million visitors per year and more than 10 million in total. What began as a local event centered around the iconic Neapolitan pizza is now a global brand that brings together pizza, culture, entertainment, and community. With stops in Naples, Milan, London, and—for the first time in 2026—Berlin and Rome, as well as other planned destinations such as New York, Chicago, and Dubai, Caputo Pizza Village represents a format that brings together Italian tradition and the spirit of the times.
