Post Paradies

Can people still inspire one another despite the much-discussed social divide? A theatre collective pitches ideas to one another and to the audience for their next play, which explores the tension between the capital and the periphery.

At a time when individuals and groups are increasingly isolating themselves from the media and public debates quickly become polarised, Post Paradies – known for its humorous productions (‘Die Hundekot-Attacke’ and ‘Der Clowns-Kongress’, both to be seen at the HAU in 2025) – aims to take stock in this musical collage.

The collective first met in the Thuringian countryside. Today, the theatre group from the “backlands” is cruising through Brandenburg by bus – in search of projections, common ground and radical hope. The final stop on their journey is the HAU2.

What begins as a pitch gradually transforms into a theatre performance in which the pitched ideas develop a momentum of their own and take on a life of their own. As they travel through social bubbles, a sort of road trip emerges: the radio is playing, the parched fields of Brandenburg roll by. Inspirations gathered along the way take on a life of their own and enter into an unconventional dialogue on stage:

Why is the villager afraid that her hedge will be destroyed? What happens at the opening ceremony of a new Edeka branch, and which parties turn up there? Where do people feel safe?
