Chemistry and Pharmacy
Medicines help the body to regulate chemical and hormonal processes. Their manufacture is governed by the same chemical principles as the production of ‘normal’ chemicals. After all, all substances are made up of molecules. And the study of the composition and transformability of these molecules is chemistry.
Visitors learn about the techniques and equipment used in a laboratory: from glass pipettes to modern pipetting robots. At audio stations, molecules recount the fascinating story of their discovery.
A media station invites visitors to try their hand at being a pyrotechnician, building and setting off a firework of their own choosing. Pyrotechnic chemicals are just one example of the chemical industry’s wide range of products.
