Organ Matinee with Wayne Marshall
Wayne Marshall has earned a worldwide reputation as a conductor, organist and pianist. Since 1996 he has been organist in residence at Bridgewater Hall in Manchester. Between 2014 and 2020, he was principal conductor of the WDR Funkhaus Orchestra. Currently, he is increasingly focusing on his solo projects. He is particularly interested in the music of George Gershwin, Leonard Bernstein and contemporary American composers. In 2004 he received an honorary doctorate from Bournemouth University and in 2010 he became a Fellow of the Royal College of Music. In 2016, Wayne Marshall was awarded the prestigious Golden Jubilee Award by the Government of Barbados for his services to music. He is also an ambassador for the London Music Fund. Wayne Marshall was honored with the Order of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth II in 2021.
