Visitors can discover rare wild forms and the latest cultivars—ranging from small rarities to impressive specimens. The exhibition features, among other things, Dracula orchids, Cattleya, lady’s slippers, and Phalaenopsis in lovingly designed display stands. Many plants, as well as accessories such as growing media, pots, literature, and plant protection products, can be purchased directly on site.
Expert advice is also part of the program: experts will answer questions about the care, cultivation, and protection of the various orchid species. Hands-on demonstrations—such as the proper way to repot—will provide helpful tips for caring for your own plants at home.
A special occasion to celebrate: The German Orchid Society was founded in Berlin in 1906 and is celebrating its 120th anniversary. To mark the occasion, there will be a varied special program featuring special guests and activities.
Among other things, visitors can plant a small orchid seedling themselves and take it home, observe the young plant’s growth, and gain their first experiences in orchid cultivation. Fans of aroids such as philodendrons and anthuriums will also find plenty to enjoy.
Other highlights:
- Watercolor exhibition by two female artists featuring live painting
