The Future Is Female - Opening Reception
Eva Schönfeld's paintings draw attention to a society out of balance—to the oppression of women and the marginalization of traits and strengths typically associated with femininity. For a just, balanced world does not arise on its own: it requires that this extreme imbalance be acknowledged and overcome. Only then will a new, healthy balance be possible—one in which gender roles can be questioned and a future emerges where compassion, strength, and diversity coexist on equal footing.
Watercolor and pastel works: Unconventional pieces on brown packing paper, exploring socially critical and psychological themes that vividly portray emotions, inner struggles, and social issues.
Oil and acrylic paintings: Vivid colors, surrealism, and unusual compositions that take the viewer on an imaginative journey and radiate vitality.
