This weekend, the Knoblauchhaus Museum invites you to explore one of Berlin's last remaining Biedermeier-era townhouses with free admission.
In this authentic setting and in authentically furnished rooms, you'll learn how the Knoblauch family, a Berlin merchant family, lived here around two hundred years ago.
- How did they earn their money?
- How was their cooking done?
- And is it true that the scholar Alexander von Humboldt was a frequent guest here?
On an exciting journey through time during the Biedermeier era, you'll also meet Carl, Eduard, and Henriette – the children who once lived here. What did they play with, and what might their everyday life have been like?
For children, there's also a rally through the museum, illustrated by Berlin comic artist Mawil, in German, English, Turkish, Polish, and Spanish.
An audio guide in German, especially for families, leads you through the Knoblauchhaus with exciting stories. The Nikolaikirche Museum, just a few steps away, offers a wide variety of other activities for children and adults.
