On September 1, 1939, the German Wehrmacht invaded Poland, marking the beginning of the Second World War. The themed tour is dedicated to the National Socialist occupation and the Polish resistance.
Using selected exhibits, it tells the story of the reconstruction of Warsaw after the destruction of the city's urban and cultural heritage. It also deals with the difficult question of what this reconstruction could look like in a country that resisted the German occupiers, but did not consistently resist the anti-Semitic ideology that accompanied the occupation.
The tour invites visitors to reflect on memory, blind spots and the politics of history in post-war Poland.
