Documentary Theatre by Michael Ruf

The NSU Monologues tell the story of the years-long struggles of three families of the NSU victims – Elif Kubaşık, Adile Şimşek, and İsmail Yozgat: of their courage to stand in the front row of a funeral march, of the strength of will to demand the renaming of a street, and of their attempt to defend their own memory of their loved ones against the authorities' supposed truth.

The NSU Monologues are documentary, literal theater, at times gentle, at times demanding, at times furious – raw and direct, they provide us with intimate insights into the relatives' fight for the truth and are hard to beat in terms of topicality in times of the rise of right-wing extremism.
