Laura Q. Tontsch & Katharina Muske
At a time when patriarchal violence and hatred online have escalated into a deadly storm, a vampire awakens. She feeds not on blood, but on the anger that people suppress within themselves. Only this anger makes her stronger.
Armed with queer-feminist magic, the audience unleashes this pent-up power and fights side by side, in both the real and virtual worlds, for love and justice.
“Nocturne Catalyst” is an app-based game performance. Using their smartphones, the audience control the game interactions and can thus encounter the virtual vampire, explore magical realities and activate special abilities designed to finally bring the eternal storm of violence to a halt.
Yet here, in the eye of the storm – a walk-in installation crafted from violently shaped materials – the audience is not alone. A mysterious figure emerges, their intentions shrouded in secrecy. Together, they must remember what is worth fighting for.
