Children’s Tribunal on Climate Change
Three teenagers imagine that a climate catastrophe has occurred and that they are sitting in the International Children’s Court. In the dock: their neighbour, Mrs Salzmann, who must explain that her lifestyle does not make her partly responsible for climate change.

At the end of the hearing, the children in the courtroom reach a decision: Is Mrs Salzmann partly to blame? Should she be found guilty or not?
Director Yüksel Yolcu and his ensemble use a multimedia production, based on the book by Thomas Sutter, to engage their audience with the central question of our time: when will people realise that there is no Plan B for this world? Can we still manage to stop climate change?
Video contributions from Greta Thunberg and documentary footage feature in this production alongside performative and associative elements. A space for reflection emerges, inspiring everyone to take matters into their own hands.
For this production, a play featuring children and young people was staged for the first time at the ATZE Musiktheater. After all, it is children in particular who look to the future with fear and do not understand why adults are shirking their responsibilities.
