Would you rather be drawn from life than painted by Sitte? Willi Sitte – artist, committed communist, official, and man of power. He is considered one of the most influential and controversial painters in the GDR.

Aron Boks is his great-grandnephew and has shown little interest in his famous relative until now. Until a painting suddenly appears at a family gathering: The Holy Family. Aron begins to ask questions: Who was Willi Sitte really, what drove him?
