Musical Vespers in Autumn – Geistliche Chormusik im Herbst
The program combines works ranging from the Baroque era to the present day and explores musical themes such as praise, mercy, trust, remembrance, and hope.
Highlights include, among others:
- John Tavener’s *Song for Athene*,
- Heinrich Schütz’s “Blessed Are the Dead” and “The Heavens Proclaim the Glory of God,”
- Jan Dismas Zelenka’s impressive “Miserere.”
The program is rounded out by:
- Paul Gerhardt’s chorale *Befiehl du deine Wege* and instrumental works by Domenico Scarlatti
- Johann Nepomuk Hummel
- Frédéric Chopin.
The result is a musical vespers service for fall—an invitation to pause, listen, and discover beauty, comfort, and hope through music.
