Urban Night Owls – a guided tour of Spreepark at night.

As dusk falls, many moths begin to become active. Moths—often colloquially referred to as “moths”—may seem unremarkable at first glance, but a closer look reveals an impressive variety of colors and shapes. And on top of that, they make up the majority of all butterfly species!

However, many moth species are threatened—in part by increasing light pollution. We’d also like to discuss this important topic with you and highlight some simple alternatives.

Above all, though, we’d like to explore the fascinating lifestyle and ecological importance of moths together with you.

Using light, we’ll attract the moths and get up close to the different species on this nighttime journey of discovery.
