The Monteverdi Choir Berlin, founded in 1993 by the conductor, harpsichordist and organist Gerhard Oppelt, and the Ensemble Berlin Baroque, established in the same year under his direction, have long since established themselves as leading figures on the early music scene in Berlin and beyond.
