Mississippi Blues & Barbecue Festival 2026

In 2026, the Mississippi Blues & Barbecue Festival will once again transform the Kulturbrauerei into a hotspot for authentic blues for a day. On Sunday, August 30, 2026, starting at 3 p.m., enjoy handmade blues, an international lineup, and Memphis-style barbecue—all in the relaxed open-air atmosphere of the SODA Beach Garden.

Curated by Micha Maass, the festival—now in its 13th edition—once again brings together musicians who carry on the spirit of the Mississippi Delta blues with their own unique style, great authenticity, and palpable passion.

The 2026 Lineup

Big Joe Louis (UK)

Big Joe Louis is one of Europe’s most powerful and authentic blues performers. Born in Kingston, Jamaica, and musically shaped in London, he has earned an outstanding reputation through high-energy live shows, acclaimed albums, and international tours. His distinctive style, expressive voice, and striking guitar playing embody deep, personal blues. In the summer of 2026, he’ll be on tour with his rhythm section—a group he’s played with for over 20 years—delivering an intense, groove-driven performance brimming with stage energy.

Bo Weavil (FR)

Bo Weavil is a French singer-songwriter and bluesman with an unmistakable musical style. Building on the blues, he blends elements of funk, rock, soul, and Afro-grooves into an emotional, groovy sound, carried by his deep voice. With several albums to his credit, he has established himself as a fixture on the independent scene and is currently presenting his eighth album, “Shadows,” which blends even more rock, funk, soul, and world music influences.

BumbleBee Blues Band (DE)

The BumbleBee Blues Band stands for authentic, no-nonsense Mississippi and Chicago blues from Thuringia. Performing primarily as a duo, the musicians blend raw Delta tradition with a driving Chicago blues vibe. Raw, emotional, and played with direct energy, their sound is deeply rooted in the traditions of early blues. Depending on the occasion, the band also performs with an expanded electric blues lineup—always stomping, pure, and uncompromising.

Barbecue, Just the Way It Should Be

To go with the music, there’s authentic Memphis-style barbecue: smoky, spicy, hearty, and warm. Food just like in the juke joints of the South—right in the heart of Berlin.
