The German premiere of A Sexual History of the Internet by Mindy Seu is a participatory lecture performance that uncovers the deeply embedded, and often perverse, origins of digital tools.

How have technologies shaped and been shaped by sexuality? Together with the artist, visitors are invited to participate by reading aloud citations through a shared script on their mobile devices. This collective act of re-citation examines the relationships between techno-development and sexuality, innovation and autonomy, desire and extraction.

Mindy Seu (b. 1991, California) is an artist and technologist based in Los Angeles and New York City whose practice centers on technology-driven performance and publication. The lecture performance and artist book A Sexual History of the Internet (2025) follows her first book Cyberfeminism Index (2023), a pseudo-encyclopedia that gathers three decades of online activism and net art, which was commissioned by Rhizome (2020), premiered at the New Museum, and awarded a Graham Foundation Grant (both in 2022). Mindy is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Design Media Arts at University of California, Los Angeles.
