ARS SALTANDI Company Ars Saltandi e. V., Hildesheim, Lower Saxony

As a self-initiated group, they had the idea of creating their own stage project. Together, they chose a central theme as a starting point – from this, the central theme of their piece developed: "Mindcage" – the imprisonment in one's own mind.

They asked themselves the questions:
Where are their own limits, and what holds them back? Mental barriers that they attempted to break through, not only individually but also together as a group, within their mental chaos.

Through improvisation and exchange, they found common movement sequences. The choreographies emerged from emotions and themes that they explored in dialogue.

What makes this group so special: From many different ideas and strengths, a harmonious whole emerged. Everyone was able to contribute and be part of the project. The group thrives on mutual learning and inspiration.

Eleven young dancers, between 16 and 21 years old, have been dancing for around ten years. They met at the Ars Saltandi Dance & Drama School. Within the association, there are various volunteer groups who regularly participate in performances and perform a variety of choreographies. Through regular training, they have grown together like a second family.
