Rüdiger Roehl

The work of the Berlin metal sculptor Rüdiger Roehl spans five decades. Steel sculptures, wind sculptures, wall reliefs, metal house signs, fountain sculptures, wall monuments, grave and altar designs. His works adorn interiors and especially exteriors. Most of them are located in Berlin - some also in Marzahn-Hellersdorf. For example, at Havemannstraße 22/corner of Wörlitzer Straße, where the hobbyhorse has been dreaming on the rainbow since 2006 - a joint work with his long-time partner Jan Skuin, with whom he shared a studio in the Bohnsdorfer Schmiede from 1974 to 2012.

Rüdiger Roehl learned to be an art blacksmith in the studio of Prof. Fritz Kühn and worked there as a journeyman when the famous A portal of the Berlin City Library in Breite Straße was created here. Later he studied at the Burg Giebichenstein College of Art and Design and received his diploma in metal design as a work artist under Prof. Lichtenfeld and Funkat.
