Comic play with moving music
Shakespeare intertwines tragedy, comedy, and political questions about power, morality, and justice – a commentary that remains strikingly relevant today. In Matthias Grupp's production, the Shakespeare Company Berlin ignites sparks of tension between tragedy and farce: poetic, comedic, bawdy, virtuosic, and musical. Together with the Vorstadttheater Basel, they create an evening that makes the highs and lows of human behavior palpable.
