Record Release Tour Part II
At the end of 2023, eleven of the songs were mixed in London and pressed onto the latest CD by the Buschfunk label in Berlin. To present this ambitious project—featuring an international lineup—to a wider audience, MASTERPEACE are embarking on a small but exquisite Record Release Tour Part II with their Dylan Project.
BOB DYLAN is rightly considered one of the most influential musicians of the 20th century. His songs continue to inspire countless singers, songwriters, and instrumentalists to this day and have been interpreted in countless ways.
This is also the case with the band MASTERPEACE, in which six excellent musicians from different countries have come together for the Dylan Project. The unique selling point of the group, founded in 2016, however, is that the songs of the U.S. folk/rock legend Bob Dylan are sung by a woman—namely, singer Steffi Breiting (who also performs with the bands Moods Of Ally and Sweet Confusion, as well as a background vocalist for artists such as Dirk Zöllner)—whose rich, slightly husky, and powerful soprano voice makes listening to these songs a truly fascinating experience.
The rest of the MASTERPEACE lineup consists of Wolfram Bodag from the band Engerling (GDR blues icons and, for 30 years, the backing band for U.S. singer Mitch Ryder) on organ, piano, and harmonica, drummer Jeff Allen (also a member of the bands led by Snowy White and former Rolling Stone Mick Taylor), German guitarist Tobias Hillig (Moods Of Ally, Dirk Zöllner Band), who came up with the idea for MASTERPEACE—The Dylan Project, and bassist Malcolm Bruce (son of former Cream bassist Jack Bruce), who is now playing the four strings for this project in place of bassist and MASTERPEACE co-founder Kuma Harada (Mick Taylor Band, among others) from Japan, who sadly passed away in March 2023.
