Stella suffers from a mysterious hypersensitivity that allows her to empathize with the pain and injuries of others. As a result, she has withdrawn more and more, seeking emotional stimulation in her now uneventful life through watching TV series and movies.

Because she suspects people would simply think she's crazy, she keeps her true problem a secret. She longs to be disembodied and dissolve into nature. She hopes to find peace at a seaside clinic, write down her life story, and say goodbye. But then she finds a turtle on the beach and befriends Jordan, a woman with dementia. Finally, she uncovers a deep secret she has long kept hidden from herself.

Sabine Borgwart, born in 1985, studied fashion design and cultural studies for several semesters and worked as a photographer and illustrator before deciding to dedicate herself to writing in her mid-thirties. In 2021, she received a grant from the city of Berlin for her first novel, which was finally published in the spring of 2025. She lives in Berlin-Friedrichshain.

Admission is free; a donation to the Friends of the Marzahn-Hellersdorf City Library (Förderverein Stadtbibliothek Marzahn-Hellersdorf e.V.) to help fund the events is suggested.
