‘A Life in Colour’ is a musical interpretation of the life story of the painter Wiebke Dreyer. The music traces her journey through the various stages of her life.

The compositions are characterised above all by the strong influence of Latin American music. The interplay between the classical guitar, flute and double bass is reminiscent of the sounds of choro, rumba, bolero and samba. Yet the music also leaves plenty of scope for the three musicians to interact with one another; it is spontaneous and emotional, and open to improvisation, even though the structure provides a firm rhythmic framework.

Performed by:

  • Jonathan Bratoëff: classical guitar
  • Richard Maegraith: flute
  • Marcel Krömker: double bass
