A lecture followed by a discussion, accompanied by music and a puppet show
The event focuses on the building blocks of visual composition: the interplay between architecture, design, costume, make-up, lighting, performance, language and music.
Framed by two artistic performances by Suse Wächter and Lisa Harres, Prof. Ezio Toffolutti – the first recipient of the newly established ‘Cesar Klein Prize for Scenography’ – will give a keynote talk on his long-standing work as a set and costume designer, as well as a painter.
In conversation with Leslie Malton (Chair of the Federal Association of Actors) and the art historian Dr Anna Ahrens, he will then explore the many facets of staging spaces and their significance for art, culture and society.
