For the writer and civil rights activist Jürgen Fuchs, the district of Tempelhof initially became a place of new beginnings following his forced departure from the GDR. It was here that he continued to write about the SED dictatorship and its consequences. Yet even in the West, Fuchs remained under the watchful eye of the Stasi. His story illustrates just how far their influence extended.
Following a reading of selected texts – performed by actor Gregor Knop – the author Doris Liebermann will speak with singer-songwriter Salli Sallmann and Michael Stognienko, Jürgen Fuchs’s nephew, about the writer, and with Christoph Stamm, head of the archives at the Robert Havemann Society, about his estate.
