Lennart Schilgen is a people pleaser – if the audience wants more, he never needs to be asked twice. This time, he doesn’t need to be asked at all: the multi-award-winning songwriter and ‘verse whisperer’ skips the compulsory part and gets straight into the freestyle.

Lennart Schilgen: Na gut!
Fancy some hits from his old repertoire? No problem! He’d have played them anyway. Want to hear an obscure early track? He might even have practised it this time! First time here? No worries. Just shout ‘encore’ like everyone else, and you won’t stand out at all. If need be, even a bit of half-hearted clapping will do.
Lennart Schilgen acknowledges even the tiniest round of applause with a patronising air and says: “All right then!”
