Singer and actress Melanie Schmidli and guitarist Martino Dessi offer a unique take on the work of Kurt Weill – a Jewish composer whose music has spoken of longing, resistance and exile for almost a hundred years. KURT is an intimate concert evening – Dessi uses his guitar to create a soundscape that bridges jazz, chanson and film noir. Schmidli engages with the lyrics through a voice that sings, narrates and challenges – directly, with a velvety roughness.
