The Kiezsalon is returning to the MEK for the second time! In the museum’s late-summer garden, three extraordinary voices from the world of experimental music will come together: Scottish guitarist and sound artist Richard Youngs, New York-based sound artist C. Lavender, and Canadian violinist Jessica Moss.

For more than 40 years, Richard Youngs has been moving between the underground scene, experimental music and a wide variety of songwriting styles. The New York-based artist C. Lavender combines sound art with practices of mindful listening and sound healing.

The Canadian violinist and occasional singer Jessica Moss is best known as a member of the Montréal collective Silver Mt. Zion and, in her solo work, creates intense soundscapes that bridge ambient, metal and minimal music.

During the Kiezsalon, the special exhibition ‘The Mountains of Tyrol’ will be open at the MEK.

An evening in which experimental sounds, the exhibition and the museum garden enter into dialogue with one another.
