A feature-length documentary in which twenty-seven survivors of the Battle of Okinawa break their silence to testify to the truth about the tragedy of "gyokusai," the forced group suicide of Korean "military workers" and "comfort women" brought from Korea.
How were Okinawan citizens pressured into group suicide in the final hours of the Pacific War, and what led to the near-total annihilation of Korean military workers and "comfort women"?
Twenty years after "Song of Ariran - Voices from Okinawa" (1991), Park Soo-nam returns to Okinawa with her third documentary on the subject of Korean military workers and "comfort women."
Doors open at 6 p.m., and onigiri will be served.
In Japanese, Korean, and Okinawan with English subtitles.
