Guided Tour of the City with Ticket B
Modelled on Moscow’s grand boulevards, Karl-Marx-Allee, with its nearly 3,000 flats, tells the story of reconstruction in divided Berlin from a socialist perspective.

This east-west thoroughfare illustrates, like few other streets in Berlin, the city’s eventful architectural history against the backdrop of differing political systems and ideologies.
The guided tour starts at the twin towers at Frankfurter Tor and leads through the most famous section of Karl-Marx-Allee – the ‘confectioner’s-style’ buildings between Proskauer Straße and Strausberger Platz. Passing the buildings designed by Hermann Henselmann and Ludmilla Herzenstein, Café Sibylle and the former Kosmos cinema, the route ends in the so-called ‘second construction phase’ at the Kino International.
