This new group has its origins in a two-day recording session featuring two different trios, organised by Dudu Kouate and Ignaz Schick in 2024. One featured the cellist Julia Bilat, the other the bassist Meinrad Kneer. It has now been decided to merge the two trios into a quartet.

The resulting music is a fusion of improvised music, jazz, chamber-style strings and African elements.
The rousing grooves of Kouate’s playful African percussion meet abstract chamber-music passages from the strings, combined with the inventive, swinging melodies of Schick’s saxophones.
