Beneath Jawdropped’s sunny guitar sound, there’s always a certain restlessness. The Los Angeles-based quartet blends melodic indie rock with the bittersweet alternative sound of the ’90s and the raw directness of alt-country.

Catchy choruses meet distorted guitars, while the lyrics tell of side jobs, empty promises, and the struggle to build a life in music without letting it consume them. And yet the band has only been around for two years.
Singer Kyra Morling, singer and guitarist Roman Zangari, bassist Sean Edwards, and drummer Cook Lee-Chobanian had previously played in various local projects, organized DIY tours, and stayed in punk houses. When Zangari dug out some previously unused songs for a house show and convinced Morling to join him for the performance, it initially resulted in a spontaneous lineup. With Sean Edwards and drummer Cook Lee-Chobanian, this eventually evolved into Jawdropped.
