Neoclassical compositions at the interface of film music and Gregorian chant

Jaspar Libuda's compositions are classical soundscapes, musical stories without words, a declaration of love to melody and the deep feelings it can evoke.

A combination of virtuoso double bass artistry and <-acoustic music. Using a custom-built five-string double bass with a high C string, live electronics and a loop station, Jaspar Libuda creates an entire ensemble in front of his audience's ears, layering pads and rhythms on top of each other, weaving melodies and silence into a dense world of sound - simultaneously melancholic and full of joie de vivre.

A state of suspension between styles and genres. A borderline between classical, jazz, rock, pop and minimal music.

With timbres reminiscent of cello, percussion, guitar and oud. In the compositions on his new and third solo album "Das Buch der Träume", Jaspar Libuda expresses his love of minimal music and Gregorian chant in equal measure. He creates spaces in which time seems to expand from a fraction of a moment into a universe of sonic possibilities.
