NIPAI – the New International Performing Arts Institute – invites you to a five-day workshop at DOCK 11 EDEN in Berlin-Pankow.

This practical workshop is aimed at professional and aspiring professional actors, dancers, directors, choreographers, movement practitioners and teachers in the performing arts.

The workshop will be conducted in English.

The focus is on the interplay between physical action, movement, text and voice as key tools for performance and direction.

Participants will explore, amongst other things, rhythm, blocking, choreography, mise-en-scène, spatial relationships and ensemble work.

The practical work also draws on various approaches from physical theatre, including Meyerhold’s biomechanics, Chekhov’s concept of the psychological gesture and Stanislavski’s method of physical actions.

Exercises and practical explorations provide an opportunity to further develop forms of physical expression and to examine their application in stage work.

The workshop takes place at DOCK 11 EDEN in Berlin-Pankow and offers both professionals and emerging artists the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of physical theatre and gain new inspiration for their own artistic practice.
