Every year, INTERFILM and KUKI present more than 350 short films across over 60 programs, events, workshops, and case studies: a wealth of perspectives, stories, narratives, and impressions that can be overwhelming. That’s why INTERFILM and KUKI are inviting you to the Roter Salon on October 12 for a preview of the programs for the 42nd and 19th editions of the festivals, respectively.

Major themes in short films presented by the curators themselves. There will also be drinks and the opportunity to exchange ideas with filmmakers, experts, and film fans.

Under the title “Shared Shores,” INTERFILM’s 42nd edition explores what remains in common when people shed all that is constructed.

Shared struggles, emotions, desires, and fears: Beneath everything that separates us, there are parallels, connections, and symmetry. Independently of one another, parallel movements emerge in response to comparable situations. Something connects us, even if we can neither explain nor name it. Where language fails, art holds its potential, and curation fulfills its purpose. For it is only in the combination of different perspectives and contrasting narratives that we find the antithesis to the capitalist logic of isolation: kinship in opposition, solidarity in difference, connectedness in contrast.
