Christmas tour with mulled wine and punch
In the Garden Hall, designed by Frederick the Great in the 18th century, Emperor Wilhelm II celebrated Christmas with his family from 1889 to 1917. Princess Victoria Luise, the daughter of Emperor Wilhelm II, described the celebrations as the highlight of family life.
This guided tour focuses on the imperial use of the palace. You will learn what functions the rooms served during the Advent season, what delicacies were served at Christmas dinner, and what gifts the imperial couple and their seven children received. Wilhelm II was the first monarch to reside at the New Palace as his preferred residence for several months of the year.
To round off the Christmas tour in style, mulled wine or ‘Pusch’ is served at the end of the tour.
