A tribute to Robert Gilbert

Everyone knows his hits, but hardly anyone knows him: the brilliant Berlin chanson and cabaret poet Robert Gilbert (1899-1978).

"Ein Freund, ein guter Freund", "Es grünt so grün, wenn Spaniens Blüten blühen", "Oh mein Papa", " Das gibt's nur einmal, das kommt nie wieder", "Durch Berlin fließt immer noch die Spree" ...

Robert Gilbert wrote lyrics with inexhaustible wordplay, profundity and cabaret tips against inhuman stupidity. He worked closely with composers such as Werner Richard Heymann, Ralph Benatzky, Oscar Strauss and Robert Stolz, who set his texts to music and - like so many - had to borrow from Germany during the Nazi era.

A musical-cabaret evening against forgetting with Chanson-Nette, Henry Nandzik & Trio Scho (Gennadij Desatnik, Valeriy Khoryshman, Alexander Franz).
