An entertaining evening about communication

Communication in the age of fake news and a reluctance to engage in discussion: a topic that often leaves one speechless. Yet it is precisely this controversial topic that the well-known, successful duo Melanie Haupt and Judith Jakob—who have found a new artistic home here—dare to tackle in their new stage program, together with jazz musician Jonathan Bratoëff.

Every act of communication is unique—it’s no coincidence that the word “unique” is right there in “communication”! It can enlighten and exhilarate, hurt and connect; all too often, it’s also ambivalent. And when words fail you? Then there’s only one thing left to do: sing!

Does Brigitte, the unemployed children’s book author, see it that way too when she accepts a job offer from the Black-and-White House? The assignment: A strange event—which, thanks to Googlehupf, FinstaKram, and their alligatorithms, has long since gone viral—must be explained as simply and plausibly as possible so the public doesn’t go crazy. Will Brigitte manage to find the right words? And is there even such a thing as the “right words”?
