by Doris Crea Kollektiv
An FBI agent takes on the case and investigates the conflict between science and the paranormal. But as she probes the creature that threatens to change society, it suddenly becomes the observer itself.
A theatrical evening somewhere between *The X-Files* and the fear of the unknown, full of mystery, action, and humor.
Who owns this story? Whose gaze creates reality? In this monologue, the Doris Crea Collective ventures into the science fiction genre to subvert the practice of “othering” from at least two perspectives. To do so, they play with prejudices and projections and explore the full spectrum of observation. As the narrating agent reaches the limits of her own perception and truth, an alien becomes at times a witness, at times a suspect, and finally stares back in disbelief. The dialogue of gazes explores what we perceive as foreign. For the true unknown usually lies not somewhere out there, but almost always within ourselves.
