Hauptstadtball 2027

New name, new venue, new concept: the Association of Berlin Merchants and Industrialists (VBKI) is giving one of Berlin’s most time-honoured social events a fresh look: the former ‘Business Ball’ is to become the VBKI Capital Ball. It will celebrate its premiere on 20 February 2027 at the Konzerthaus Berlin on the Gendarmenmarkt. At the same time, the VBKI will be marking the 75th edition of its ball tradition, which has been running since 1951. Advance ticket sales for external guests begin on 7 October.

With this rebranding, the VBKI is deliberately opening up the ball to a wider audience and carrying on its tradition in a contemporary way. The Capital Ball brings together people from the worlds of politics, business, academia, culture, the media and many other sectors. Established companies will meet start-ups and the tech scene, young ball-goers will meet seasoned ball-goers, and Berlin tradition will meet fresh new ideas. Around 1,600 guests are expected. Musically and culinarily, the evening combines the classical with the modern and offers diversity of the highest standard.

75 years of tradition in motion

The new name is therefore more than just a rebranding. With the move to the Konzerthaus Berlin, a new visual identity and a revised format, the VBKI is also further developing the evening’s experience. For instance, the Konzerthaus on Gendarmenmarkt becomes part of the concept. Its festive halls, varying levels and elegant rooms enable a ball ‘in motion’. The festive atmosphere and the opportunity for socialising are retained, whilst music, culture and entertainment take centre stage to a greater extent.
