Neukölln - a wonderful park, created from a gravel pit.

The Körnerkiez, located between Hermann- and Karl-Marx-Strasse, has a variety of interesting buildings and institutions.

Some of these are the Neukölln lighthouse, the Ilsenhof, a cooperative residential complex from the 1920s, and the Körnerpark, which was built in a former gravel pit until 1916.

The park's namesake, Franz Körner, is also discussed in more detail. This one had somewhat exotic preferences. Or would you have suspected Egyptian crocodiles in Neukölln?
